Robin Hood, Blossom Street

Just a bit further down Blossom Street from Oddfellows was the Robin Hood.  This beerhouse only lasted a few years in the 1850s before being replaced by warehouses during the Industrial Revolution.  This, of course, can quite rightly be claimed to have started right here in old Ancoats, and the wares of the mills needed storage for the product flying out of its many mills.  This was before goods were moved out to market (these markets being other towns and cities, but often the garment showrooms in town, many of which were in the area we know today as the Northern Quarter).
