White Lion, Deansgate

On the right of the small passage that used to be Parsonage Lane was the White Lion in the mid 1880s.  The pub  backed onto the Admiral Haddock or Parsonage House on Parsonage Lane.  Let's hope the Mancunians of the mid 19th century enjoyed these two pubs more so than we enjoyed the pubs that sit near here today.  The terrible Slug & Lettuce and even worse Moon Under Water are to the left in the below picture.
