Peacock, Market Street

The Peacock used to stand on Market Street where Cross Street passes it today.  In the early 1800s it was kept by John Knowles, and it was a coaching house where the famous Peveril of the Peak (the Pev itself is named after this vehicle) coach set out from in its last days [1].
