Box Bar, Deansgate

Box Bar, Deansgate. (c) CDX at skyscrapercity.

Box Bar was one of three pioneering Castlefield bars which bit the dust along with Jacksons Wharf and Quay Bar. It was housed in the ground floor of the Congregational Chapel, which was once Chapel Studios, home to Stock, Aitken and Waterman. Pictured above in its early '90s heyday it is was in a sorry state until its 2009 refurbishment; not sure what the plans are for this.

Former Box Bar, Deansgate, 2007 and 2009. (c) Both CDX at skyscrapercity.
