Alexandra Park Hotel / Little Alex, Alexandra Road

Alexandra Park Hotel, Alexandra Road. (c) curlywurly at rootschat.

This was the Little Alex to the Alexandra Hotel's "Big Alex" in Moss Side.  A Wilsons house in the 1960s and 1972, the Alexandra Park Hotel was latterly a Vaux house, seen in 1995, that has been demolished in recent years to be replaced by a rather ugly modern regeneration [1].  It was No.3 Alexandra Road, so probably the right hand side building with fetching mustard colour scheme marks the spot.  One of the famous patrons of the Little Alex was City player, Eric Brook, in the 1920s and '30s (was the above group shot from around this time, or earlier?) [2].
