Dolphin, Clowes Street

The Dolphin is shown in 1964 on the corner of Denehurst Street and Clowes Street as a Burton house, and was photographed in 1992 by Alan Winfield when it was owned by Whitbread [1].  After it closed, the Dolphin had a spell as an Indian restaurant, "Timers", but is boarded up these days.  Off Hyde Road, Clowes Street, the birthplace of Manchester City Football Club at St Marks Church, hosts many closed and lost pubs; the Dolphin wasn't even the first one along the street (that was the long-lost Junction).
