Star, Bentinck Street

Star, Bentinck Street, Hulme, 1992. (c) With permission from Alan Winfield.

Built in about 1975 to serve the regenerated Hulme estates, the Star was a Scottish Brewers house.  The original Star Inn on Bentinck Street off Chester Road stood on this corner and closed in 1974 as its estate pub replacement was being planned [1].

  1. I went in the replacement Star on the 30th July 1992 i have got a photo of this and the newer pub was also a S&N tied house.
Was the new Star built on the same site as the old one.
Because my photo looks down a street which has light industrial buildings on it.
