Robin Hood, Ducie Grove

Former location of Robin Hood, Ducie Grove, Chorlton-on-Medlock. (c) googlemaps.

This little Cornbrook Ales pub was tucked away off Oxford Road, off Devas Street on Ducie Grove.  These days this area is nothing more than a series of University car parks, but as shown here in 1958 and 1959, the pub was crammed in amongst the Chorlton-on-Medlock terraced houses.  The first photo shows the Cornbrook Ales truck dropping off barrels of ale, while the second shows the cellar and a Bass sign on the front of this tiny boozer.
