V Bar / Club V / 111 Club, Deansgate

V Bar, Deansgate, 1999. (c) MDMArchive.

Another late '90s occasional haunt I've dredged up from the memory banks, this was largely a black music and house club back then, on the corner of John Dalton Street and Deansgate. A tiny basement bar with an entrance on Deansgate you'd miss if you weren't on the lookout, but packed out every time.

Unbeknown to me, it actually survived as an electro/dance club for another decade until it closed its doors for the last time on 10th April 2010.  The club was also known as the 111 Club (as its address is 111 Deansgate) in earlier times, run by Mecca and then Marstons [1].
