070. Kro Piccadilly, Piccadilly Gardens

Kro Bar, Piccadilly Gardens. (c) markydeedroppics at flickr.

Situated on the edge of Piccadilly Gardens, Kro is a part of the new building built within the boundaries of the old gardens. Whilst appearing fairly soulless from, outside, it is actually quite pleasant inside and a welcome if a little expensive addition to the city centre drinking circuit. Also it's nice to be able to sit outside on the edge of the gardens and yet still have a glass pot rather than being treated like children and being made to put it in plastic. Whilst understandably there isn't a pool table or dart board, Kro's still pleasant if maybe a tad sterile surroundings make for a good evening. Kro Bar is part of the mini empire which includes Kro Bar and Kro 2, both on Oxford Road, plus the Old Abbey in the Science Park, and Kro in Heaton Moor and the Trafford Centre in Dumplington. As for beer, always a good selection available with at least five real ales on at one time and numerous continental lagers and ciders available.
