Railway Hotel, Berigan Close

As recently as September 2008, this Longsight estate pub was still signed as the Railway Hotel, despite being converted to a convenience store.  Move along Berigan Close and Charlies Mini Market might never have been a boozer.  The Railway was a Boddingtons house that was built to replace an older Railway, which is probably this one shown in 1965.  The newly built estate pub is shown 10 years later in 1975 and Alan Winfield photographed the Railway Hotel in 1993, when the layout of the council houses around here was quite different.
