Golden Eagle, Stretford Road, Hulme. (c) Bob Potts .
The Golden Eagle closed in 1976 as a Wilsons house at No.123 Stretford Road . It was in a block of buildings on the south side of Stretford Road between Vine Street and Dunham Street, opening in 1866 . Vine Street used to run south from Leaf Street, which means the old location of the Golden Eagle was here from the still surviving Leaf Street.
