The Village, centred around Canal Street, was home to a floating pub in the '70s, the City Barge, on the Rochdale Canal at some point in the 1970s.  No further details on the City Barge as yet... There was a barge here in 2008, below, and when we cycled past in summer 2009 there was too.  It's no pub though, looks like an entrance or outdoor sitting or smoking area for the Eden Bar & Restaurant.
