George Inn (before warehouse), Oldham Road. (c) Neil Richardson [1].
Just three doors up Oldham Road (almost opposite Bengal Street) from the trio of the Victoria, Seven Stars and Britains Protection was the George Inn, also known as the Concert Tavern. It was on the corner of Lees Street (now gone) and closed in 1911 [1]. You can just about see it on the left here in 1898, next to the warehouse (in the centre is the Railway Hotel).
