Apollo, Altrincham Street

Former location of the Apollo, Altrincham Street (looking towards London Road), 2007. (c) Gene Hunt at flickr.

Depicted as the Apollo Inn Concert Hall here from around 1906, this place was off London Road on the left as you enter the city centre, on Altrincham Street, when the street used to be a thoroughfare right through to Sackville Street.  The Apollo was somewhere opposite the railway arches which carry the through-line from Piccadilly around towards Oxford Road Station, shown here in the 1960s and above, today.
