Junction, Clowes Street

Former location of the Junction, Clowes Street, West Gorton. (c) Google 2012. View Larger Map.

The Junction used to stand on this corner of Hyde Road and Clowes Street, near to the still-standing, but closed, Dolphin.  The pub is shown at the archives in 1959 as a Chesters pub, in 1971, 1972 and 1972 again as a Whitbread house with the Dolphin in the background along Clowes Street and the West Gorton high-rises.  Alan Winfield snapped the Junction in 1992 when it was back to being a smart-looking Chesters house [1].
