This old boozer has been converted into a residential properties for a number of years, although pleasingly, the pub sign has been retained as a feature outside on its pole on Ladybarn Lane.

The Derby actually stood just behind here on Exbury Street off Mauldeth Road, parallel to Kingsway. It is shown here to the rear on Exbury Street in 1959, 1970 and 1972 at the archives as a Wilsons house.

I worked here as a barmaid in 1977 for a few months. I was on a working holiday from Australia and was 19. The publican was lovely and the customers were very friendly. The pub had a warm relaxed atmosphere.
