Oxford, Oxford Street

The Oxford, Oxford Street. (c) Manchester Pub Surveys [1].

Shown here and here in 1905, the Oxford was a grand looking boozer as shown in its later days here in 1972.  It is looking busy here in 1974 and here in what was presumably just before its demolition in 1980.  It was situated next to the Rochdale Canal as it passes beneath Oxford Street.

A seven-story apartment block replaced the Oxford, and the ground floor contains Felicini, an Italian restaurant. The view from the bridge is shown below.
