163. Great Central, Wilmslow Road

Great Central, Wilmslow Road, Fallowfield. (c) Google 2011. View Larger Map.

A Wetherspoons.  In student land.  The result is a smattering of young outsiders amongst the cheap beer-seeking local old boys and scallies. An interesting choice on the bar of this busy new-build boozer, but sadly the first couple of pints we had were cloudy - although the Okells Saison may have meant to be like that along with its acquired taste. Thankfully the Irish Pale Ale we had next was much better before we headed over the road in search of a proper pub (that is, to the Friendship, not the derelict old Fallowfield Station which once housed an O'Neills chain pub).  Wetherspoons link.
