The Cheshire Cheese was on Oswald Street, off Every Street in Ancoats, shown from various angles as a Chesters house in 1960, 1964, 1970 and 1987. During a 1992 visit, Alan Winfield recalls Chesters Mild and Coachmans Bitter being on offer in this old but pleasant boozer, pictured here [2]. This corner, looking down Every Street towards Holt Town and the gas cylinder beyond, has seen flats replace the Cheshire Cheese.
