Waldorf Hotel, Cooper Street

Waldorf House, Cooper Street. (c) IckleWEB.

Another Waldorf in town used to be the Waldorf Hotel on Cooper Street, above what is now the Tiger Lounge basement bar.  Seen here as a Wilsons hotel in the 1970s, Waldorf House is nowadays home to SHM Group.  It was originally Manchester's Freemason's Hall when built in 1863.  A closer look shows the four statues of Fortitude, Prudence, Temperance and Justice, and Masonic symbols, all over this fine building.
