Golden Lion Hotel, Deansgate

Next door to the Three Arrows was the Golden Lion listed as No.256a Deansgate in the 1825 street census.  The Nantwich Fly Waggon coach used to set off from the Golden Lion every Sunday morning at 7am [1].  Seen in this 1872 photo, it was the larger of the two public houses on this stretch of Deansgate which made way for the Great Northern Warehouse when it was built between 1875 and 1899.
