073. Odd, Thomas Street

Odd by name, and it describes this bar pretty well actually. A mish mash of tables, cushions, poufes and settees, its a quirky little place but one that has plenty of charm. And whilst you would expect bottled beer and becks on draught, it also serves real ale, albeit just the one pump, but a good pint nonetheless. Not cheap at £3.10 pint, but where is in this strangely popular part of town? As with others in this area, maybe not a place for a session but a welcome addition to any planned crawl.

Always busy on the weekend, you occasionally get the odd local celebrity in and the basement shows old films and local film makers' productions. Odd has a sister bar, Odder, on Oxford Road, also worth a look, plus the new Oddest in leafy Chorlton which by all accounts is just as successful as the town branches.
