Robin Hood, London Road. (c) Manchester Local Image Collection. Click here to view full image.
On the corner of London Road and Fairfield Street, as seen here in 1969 and here in the 1970s, was the Wilsons house, the Robin Hood. Eagle-eyes may also spot the dual branding for London's terrible Watneys brewery on the busy pub frontage, not to mention the upside down plastic Wilsons sign. The Robin Hood was roughly opposite the still open Bulls Head, and was pulled down several decades ago to make way for the expanding Piccadilly Station.
