Lower Ship, Withy Grove

Lower Ship, Withy Grove, 1967 (c) wikipedia.

The Lower Ship is seen here closer up in the 1970s.  It is yet another of Manchester's pubs lost in the name of progress, when the ugly and dominating Arndale Centre was plonked straight on top of this intriguing part of town.  The Lower Ship is also seen by looking down Withy Grove here in 1959 and here from the same year, showing Sugar Lane past Sorrento's cafe.
