The Church Inn is a closed former Threlfall's house tucked away off Chapel Street on Ford Street, one of many we noticed during our little crawl of Salford last year. In 1975 the Church Inn was described as a five-roomed house including "a large concert room which rocks at the weekend." As a Greenall Whitley house then, the beer choice was electric pump bitter, mild, Grunhalle, Festival and Guinness [1].

Whilst it was well and truly closed in October 2010, according to this website it had reopened in late 2009 following a fire. However, the Chapel Street regeneration scheme seems certain to see the demolition of the (derelict) Church Inn [2].

The church Inn was still standing in July 2017 but as November 2017 is sadly no more. The pub was run by my great great great grandfather John Bolsover aka Mundy he was running the pub when the 1871 census and was still there in 1873 according to the trade directory.
