New Continental, Harter Street, 2010. (c) host at 28dayslater.
This building was originally a paper warehouse that backed onto a spur of the Rochdale Canal, now backfilled. The building has undergone some restoration work but that stopped halfway through as evidenced by the builder's tools and materials lying about inside. In the basement was the New Continental, named after the more famous Continental club which was on Oxford Street. The basement bar became The Tube for a while but has been shut for several years now.
Urban explorers have been in here and as usual have taken some mint photos, as these intrepid youths always do. The picture below is from the ground floor just behind the front door of the club. Also for our enjoyment are recent snaps from April 2010 showing what a state this place has quickly become. Again, good work chaps.
