This big bar-restaurant-club was tucked away adjacent to Piccadilly Station beneath the Place Apartment Hotel in an old converted cotton warehouse. With high ceilings, retained columns and exposed brick it was a stylish enough place that attracted various B-list celebs such as Girls Aloud, Ray Winstone and Djibril Cisse to its booths and curtained-off drinking and dining areas. It got some rave reviews after it opened in around 2004, despite being a lager and bottles only bar, but closed in 2007 due to rent arrears [1]. Surely its less-than-fashionable location for the type of crowd it tried to attract (not exactly the Jolly Angler set) played a part in its failure too.
